Walmart raising pay for 165,000 hourly workers at Talk Business. “The new system includes new leadership roles in supercenters, both at the salaried and hourly level: store lead (formerly co-manager), coach (formerly assistant manager) and team lead (previously department manager). Shares of furniture retailer Herman Miller soar as home office sales surge at CNBC. “Herman Miller reported fiscal first quarter earnings per share of $1.24, blowing past the earnings of 26 cents per share expected by Wall Street, according to Refinitiv. The company made $626.8 million in revenue, topping estimates of $524.8 million. Organic sales for Herman Miller grew 13% last quarter.” Read more

H-E-B will use robots to fulfill online orders for pick-up, delivery at Fox Business. “H-E-B will be partnering with Swisslog, a logistics and robotics company based in Switzerland, the companies announced this week. Swisslog will provide H-E-B with several automated micro-fulfillment centers — small-scale warehouses that use robots to fulfill online orders.” Read more

Rent the Runway overhauls subscription plan as pandemic reshapes business at CNBC. “The unlimited option had allowed Rent the Runway customers to pay $159 per month to exchange as many items as they wanted, as many times as they wanted, so long as they only had four items out at once.
